Drummer Heinz Geisser’s Ensemble 5 extends its reach from Volume 1 of The Collective Mind with these works, culminating from the same session. Unlike similar experimental improv units, the artists’ project a holistic schema, where polytonal shadings, bopping pulses, fragmented sub-themes and super-speed flurries present numerous propositions that morph into a force field, composed of variable angles and shapes.
