This is the second album of the truly singular trio that John Wolf Brennan formed with Tony Majdelani and Marco Jencarelli. The three musicians, now wholly familiar, create presence in a geography both familiar and strangely oblique. The sonic landscape they travel is at once symbolic and almost tangible — so present that listeners may sense that it is their own terrain of dreaming. The music evokes pilgrimage, but it also constitutes pilgrimage. The first album Pilgrims was released in 2013 and was a great success.
