The wonderful actor Ralph Richardson said of his craft: “I plant my two feet firmly on the stage and I dream…”. Some would say he had perhaps the benefit of a script to guide him. Nevertheless Sergio and I have no such script. Every start is a step into the unknown for us, or at least into those unchartered territories and half-submerged codes, misread maps, familiar and unfamiliar tricksters. Our steps and sequences were taken with often very few seconds’ pause between them. Unfathomable and risky dance steps indeed at the time, especially under the studio microscope, all ears and stare. But remember, the listener makes the music, and it all makes more sense later.
